Overall Book II: The Six Stones is a great read and well worth your time. The pace of 'The Six stones' feels frantic at times compared to Book I, but the action dictates the pace and while I'd have appreciated it being slower I can't complain.Īuthor McGray created a nasty antagonist in the Somnibus and I'd love to see a story focused on their origins, digging deeper into the lore of the ghastly creatures. Now Michael must save his newest love interest, Becca, along with keeping the Somnibus from acquiring all six stones and invading earth. They leave him a rather simple looking stone, a 'trace' that unleashes a previously unknown ability in him. The author rachets up the stakes for the protagonist Michael in Book II. The Somnibus: Book ITwenty-year-old Michael Black's parents are dead killed in a mysterious car accident.
